Following the cessation of discussions on Brexit with the Labour Party, the political saga continues with the European Parliamentary elections having taken place, the abandoning of the proposed vote on the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, and finally the Prime Minister giving notice to quit on Friday 7th June. A Conservative Party leadership selection process will now be undertaken, which could take several weeks (this process is explained in the diagram once again kindly supplied by the BBC), so the confusion and uncertainty surrounding Brexit continues unabated.
The default position remains that the UK will leave the EU on 31st October without a deal if no agreement can be reached.
Once again, we would like to thank the BBC for the diagram.
